Sterile Processing Manager-RN-Full-Time Job
Summary:
The Manager of sterile processing is responsible for planning, directing, and coordination of all activities relating to the reprocessing of reusable instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
Responsible for the initial orientation and training of newly hired sterile processing department (SPD) staff.
Provides for the continuing education (in-service) for staff.
Ensures the provision of patient care.
Possesses the demonstrated ability to function in a staff role when necessary.
Functions as a mentor/preceptor as needed.
Establishes and utilizes mechanisms for continuous quality improvement Promotes hospital mission, vision, and values of the organization and adheres to specific hospital policy and procedures.
I.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
One - Three years perioperative experience, OR preferred.
Management experience preferred.
Certification from IAHCSMM as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferred or obtain within 12 months of hire.
Certification for SPD Manager or Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) within 2 years of hire.
